The Online Learning support team at the Glasscock School is committed to designing, producing, implementing and managing electronically supported education within the school. We believe that effective learning depends on high-quality instructional design. The Glasscock School’s online instructors are content experts who are enthusiastic about online teaching and learning. They work closely with the school’s Online Learning team to develop and facilitate courses that exemplify best practices of student-centered design and inquiry-based learning. Our courses foster a dynamic learning environment that encourages interaction and networking.
The mission of the Online Learning department is to support and enhance student-centered online learning within the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies by focusing on pedagogical quality, innovative course design, and providing superior faculty and student resources and training.

What We Do
The Online Learning department provides online educational strategic planning, instructional design, course production and technical training to instructors offering online courses through the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. We are committed to supporting the development of high quality online education.
The Online Learning Department is responsible for providing:
- Policies and guidelines for online learning across the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies
- Training to help prepare instructors to teach online
- Design, structure and production of online courses and programs
- Technical support to faculty and students to ensure a successful course experience
- Design and develop courses with creativity and innovation utilizing the latest Online Learning technologies
- Assist faculty with incorporating best practices in online teaching and learning
- Facilitate individualized student support to ensure a positive learning experience
- Ensure all courses go through rigorous quality assurance process
Meet the Team
Instructional Technology Manager
Saira’s experiences lies in resolving issues related to technology use in teaching and learning, including application assessment, pedagogy, deployment methodologies, integration strategies and curriculum design and development. She holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics and an M.S. in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Instructional Design.
Senior Instructional Design Specialist
Jennifer has experience in residential learning, online learning, and blended learning. Her areas of expertise lie in creative curriculum design, developing innovative instructional strategies and video producing. She holds a B.A. from Washburn University, an M.S.E. from The University of Kansas and achieved Ph.D. candidate status while at the University of Kansas.
Information Technology Specialist II
Chaundra has experience in providing customer service, training and technical support on the use of educational technologies to staff, instructors and students. She holds a B.A. from the College of Biblical Studies-Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University, and a M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University.
