Payment Hot Topics from the Federal Reserve
Safer and faster don’t always happen at the same time. This is evident in the world of payments. In this course, participants will examine efforts made both in the government and public sectors to improve security and speed in a world driven by digital currency. Learn about the Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force, a 320 member team charged with developing plans for not only a faster method of payment, but a more secure system. Also explore non-government entities that are making strides in this arena. Evidence of all these efforts can already be seen with the implementation of EMV chips and terminals which should result in a decline of point-of-sale fraud. However, strides are still needed in the speed and safety of online payments. Participants will discuss methods to combat fraud and possible responses from the United States.
