In June, the Intensive English students visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science. They loved the colorful butterflies in the Cockrell Butterfly Center and laughed at the reactions of small children in the 3D movie “Galapagos.” The Cullen Hall of Gems and Minerals was a surprising favorite, where our female students were quite taken with the exquisite jewelry on display. Like many museum patrons, students were also impressed by the Tyrannosaurus rex fossils in the Morian Hall of Paleontology. One student, after seeing the familiar names of Susie and Mel Glasscock on the wall of sponsors, said it was good to be part of a program that supports education beyond university.
