Fall Preview

After the success of last year’s Fall Preview, we’re happy to once again kick off our fall session with this free event. On Wednesday, September 2, from 3-7 p.m., you can join us for brief lectures, giveaways and the chance to connect with other students and instructors. Instructors from our personal development courses will provide “teasers” on the subjects they are presenting this fall in Hudspeth Auditorium. We will also have our studio classroom open on the second floor with presentations from art and photography instructors. Our Master of Liberal Studies and Master of Arts in Teaching programs will host open house information sessions and information about all our other offerings will also be available. During the event, attendees can enter to win one of the following prizes: A Kindle Fire HDX 7", Bose SoundLink On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones or a Dropcam Wi-Fi Wireless Video Monitoring Camera. We hope you can join us to preview everything we have going on at the Glasscock School this fall. Please visit glasscock.rice.edu/preview to RSVP and for more details.

CreativeMornings

In August we are hosting CreativeMornings, a monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community in our Hudspeth Auditorium. On Friday, August 28, Jeff Reichman will provide a short presentation on the August theme of “Action.” Reichman of January Advisors, works on projects related to community engagement, data analysis and visualization, and government innovation and transparency. CreativeMornings is an international association organized by talented volunteer hosts and their teams in cities all over the world. A different city picks the theme for each month and the hosts find creative specialists to present on these topics in their local communities. Erma Tijerina is the Houston host and her team includes Shawna Forney and Ricky Cardenas. Join us at 8:30 a.m. on August 28 for breakfast and networking in the Dean’s Commons, the lecture will begin at 9 a.m. in Hudspeth Auditorium. CreativeMornings will have more details about the presenter and topic as we get closer to the date. To attend this event you will need to create an account on the CreativeMornings website and register. Registration doesn’t open until Monday, August 24. We hope to see you there!
