APSI: AP Art History for New Teachers, Week 1

The AP Summer Institute in art history in June 2017 will be designed based on the needs of those attending, whether they be mostly teachers new to teaching AP Art History or teachers who have taught the newly designed curriculum now for two years.

On the first day, teachers will be provided with an overview of the newly redesigned curriculum. During each morning session, the consultant will lead the institute by modeling classroom instruction. During each afternoon session, the consultant will provide teachers with the opportunity to explore pedagogical approaches through practice and discussion. Emphasis will be placed on both content and pedagogy. The content presented this summer will mostly differ from that which was presented last year at UTA so that teachers who attended last year's institute will benefit by exploring a broader range of content.
