APSI: AP Biology for New Teachers, Week 1

AP Biology teachers will obtain information related specifically to the newly redesigned AP Biology Curriculum Framework, including hands-on experience conducting labs from the new lab manual with an emphasis on fostering inquiry in their courses.

In addition to instruction from Carol Leibl on the new curriculum, there will be strategies and best practices for a successful AP Biology course.

Carol Leibl has been educator for  AP  Biology for a number of years.  Carol has 27 years of teaching experience, most of it spent at James Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas focusing on AP Biology. Currently she is teaching at Antonian College Prepatory High School. Her educational career has included many awards, including the Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Award, Texas Biology Teacher of the Year, Siemens Award for Excellence in Teaching, and NABT Teacher of the Year for Texas.

She has been a College Board consultant since 1985 and has been a reader for the AP Biology Exam. In this capacity, Carol has led numerous summer institutes as well as one and two-day workshops.
