APSI: AP Physics 1: Algebra-based for New Teachers, Week 2

The purpose of this Summer Institute is to familiarize participants with the Physics 1 course and to offer guidance, strategies, and resources for successfully teaching this course.

An overview of the AP Physics 1 Curriculum Framework will be explored with an emphasis on preparing teachers for the audit and the focus on inquiry-based pedagogies. Another particular focus of this institute will be the developing of classroom material for Physics 1.

Angela Jensvold received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics. She has been teaching AP Physics at Diamond Bar High School since 2003, and introductory physics at the college level since 2002. Angela has been participating in the AP Physics reading since 2005 as a reader, table leader, and question leader. She has been trained by the College Board and is an endorsed AP Physics workshop consultant. She is currently serving on the AP Physics 2 Test Development Committee. Angela is committed to helping teachers best prepare their students for the AP exam and college level physics.
