This course is designed to help teachers build a successful AP US history program.
The course will begin with “nuts and bolts” considerations like tackling the exam, understanding the curriculum framework, and pacing the course. From there, the course will address building skills for AP US History, including writing skills, critical thinking skills, and document analysis skills. Teachers are encouraged to bring a laptop computer or web-enabled device for use during collaborative activities.
Matt Cone has been a teacher at Plano Senior High School in Plano, TX, since 1997. He has been a College Board consultant since 2001. He has served as a reader and table leader at the AP US History Reading since 2002, and has also served as an early table leader for the new short answer question on the AP US History exam.
