Fall IB: Coordination, Category 2

This workshop is designed to help DP coordinators in an IB World School reflect on and improve the quality of DP delivery.

The workshop will focus on:
+ assessing the links between IB Programme standards and practices (January 2014) and effective school practices, structures and policies
+ creating strategies to support DP coordinators to become more effective in their role
+ developing an efficient use of the International Baccalaureate Information System (IBIS)
+ recording and using student data to monitor the success of programme delivery
+ collaborating between teachers across the DP courses to enhance student understanding
+ implementing DP policies and procedures
+ understanding the role of the extended essay supervisor and subject-specific assessment criteria
+ learning about forthcoming changes and updates that affect the implementation of the DP
+ outlining the evaluation process and its impact on the school.

Instructor: Jane Reed

Dr. Jane Reed is in her 17th year as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme coordinator for North Kansas City High School, North Kansas City, Missouri, USA. She also teaches grade 12 IB English A:  Literature HL. She has been in education for 29 years, including positions as an English teacher and high school counselor. Dr. Reed serves as a verification site visitor, consultant and workshop leader for the IB and is past-president of Midwest IB Schools, an Association of IB World Schools. She holds a B.S.E. in math and English from the University of Central Missouri, a master’s in counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and an Ed.D. in educational leadership from Saint Louis University.
