Professional Effectiveness: Self-Awareness in the Workplace

"Self-Awareness in the Workplace" explores methods of managing emotions, thoughts and strategies for personal and professional interactions and reviews the long and short-term implications of building a fulfilling career. Learn the tips, shortcuts, and secrets that are often overlooked. This course is designed to accelerate a process that can take decades to navigate. You will learn to take full responsibility of your actions and reactions, education and career paths, income and overall success in the world.

The first in a series of offerings on Professional Effectiveness, “Self-Awareness in the Workplace” lays the foundation for a series of courses meant to make you a more productive professional, no matter your career or where you are in your career development. Instructor: John P. Schuster

John P. Schuster, PCC, is currently an executive coach and teaches coaching skills at Columbia University and the Hudson Institute of Coaching. He previously held the position of an executive coach and instructor for CoachRICE: A Leadership Coaching Program at Rice University. He conducts programs on career renewal and planning for retirement in multiple corporate and nonprofit environments. Mr. Schuster is a board member of the Jung Association of Central Ohio and an international childcare improvement NGO, Whole Child International. He is the coach in residence for a CEO mentoring firm, Merryck and an author of several books, including "Answering Your Call: a guide to living your deepest purpose" and "The Power of Your Past: the art of recalling, reclaiming and recasting."

Mr. Schuster holds a master's in literature and psychology – earned 40 years apart. He and his wife, Patti, have run a leadership development business for more than 30 years.
