Come join us in a collaborative “playground” setting in which teachers will be guided through advanced strategies on how to use the Google Suite to facilitate student engagement.
Teachers will be guided through edtech solutions to questions that all teachers face when trying to use classroom technology to teach and engage their students. This course is designed for teachers with an intermediate to advanced understanding of the Google Suite of Apps for Education. Teachers who are beginner users of the Google Suite of Apps for Education are encouraged to take the Technology Integration Workshop Part I: Google Classroom prior to this course.
Barrett Doke has taught American history for 12 years. With support from his administration and PTO, he helped create and co-lead a Chromebook initiative for the Vanguard program at his current school, T.H. Rogers School. He has worked for Rice as a Cooperating Teacher to train and mentor new teachers and currently serves as a Content Specialist in Educational Technology for the Rice University Master of Arts in Teaching program.

Continuing Education Credits: Participants will receive up to 5 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits or .5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). Attendance is taken each morning and afternoon. The hours on your certificate will reflect your actual hours of attendance. Participants are responsible for signing the attendance sheet each day. GT Hours: The Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies Education Technology Workshops are not approved by TAGT for GT hours, but some districts will allow a limited number of hours to be applied for update hours. Please contact your district for specifics.
Acknowledgment of Enrollment: Once you register for a course through our online registration system, you will be enrolled in the course. An enrollment acknowledgment will immediately be sent to the email address on your account showing payment confirmation or including instructions for submitting payment via check. In some cases, a course may be full, and you will have the option of getting on a waiting list. A waiting list is automatically created for a course once it has filled to capacity. If a spot should become available in that filled course, and you are next on the waiting list, you will receive an email to the email address on file with instructions for completing registration for that specific course. Payments: Payments are accepted by credit card or purchase order. Registrations via credit card are confirmed immediately upon processing. Registrations made via PO are not considered confirmed until CCR receives the actual payment (check). If registering using a PO, payment (check) is due within 30 days of registration. Failure to submit timely payment may result in the cancellation of your registration.
