Daylong Summits

School Literacy & Culture offers two summits during the academic year, in fall and spring. These daylong programs, hosted at Rice University, bring early literacy educators together in a collaborative enviroment, featuring keynote speakers, breakout sessions and hands-on workshops.

Daylong Summit Opportunities

A half-day conference for Houston’s early childhood educators in the wake of Hurricane Harvey to begin children’s healing through stories and play.

Join Rice University’s School Literacy and Culture program for our 19th annual Early Literacy Summit. This one-day gathering of early literacy professionals includes a feature session by Patsy Cooper, author of "When Stories Come to School" and "The Classrooms All Young Children Need," as well as breakout sessions led by School Literacy and Culture staff, mentors and guests.
