We recently converted several VHS tapes we found in storage to digital files, including this newsclip from our 25th anniversary* celebration in 1993. KTRK-Channel 13 reporter Alvin Van Black visited the party in his trademark tuxedo. You’ll see Dean Mary McIntire and Rice President George Rupp, among others, including Dr. Bernard Patten who has taught classes for us for years and who had the highest bid on the night’s most interesting silent auction item – 10 years of free lecture classes!

Bonus: The clip includes other stops Van Black made that night, including the Roger Clemens-Doug Drabek National Celebrity Golf Tournament Gala.

Continuing Studies 25th Anniversary Celebration, 1993.

*Although Continuing Studies was founded in 1967, the first courses were held in 1968, which is the year we use for our anniversaries.
