The course is designed to provide participants with preparation to help them better prepare their students for the challenges of upper-level AP courses.
In this introduction to teaching Pre-AP English, we will focus upon how to design college prep English curriculum while balancing the intellectual and emotional needs of the young high school student. Participants will put one foot in an ideal world of rigorous expectations and the other foot in fun and friendly lessons.
Jackie Rains has taught 7th grade English at Fort Worth Country Day for 12 years. She enjoys establishing the foundation students will build upon in their future high school and college experience.
