Rice Education, part of Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies, hosted a reception May 10 at the Anderson-Clarke Center to honor graduates of its Master of Arts in Teaching program and of its Teacher Certification and Principal Certification programs.
Family, friends, faculty and staff gathered for the event, which featured food and refreshments, remarks from program leaders and the presentation of certificates. The celebration recognized the achievements of future educators and school leaders committed to student-centered, equity-focused teaching and leadership in diverse educational settings.
“We take immense pride in all our graduates and certification recipients, knowing they carry forward not just knowledge but a deep commitment to shaping future generations,” said Christal Burnett Sánchez, director of Rice Education. “Being an educator is more than holding a degree and certification — it’s a calling, and Rice is dedicated to preparing educators who teach and lead with purpose, compassion and excellence.”
