Our fall 2021 offerings include both in-person and online classes. Taught by outstanding Rice University faculty and community experts and developed in collaboration with dozens of university and regional partners, classes are conveniently offered during the day and evening.
The Glasscock School is comprised of nine departments each designed to serve a specific community or fill an educational need. Together, these departments allow us to extend our reach and build a diverse community.
Center for College Readiness
One of the largest teacher-training institutes in the country, the Center for College Readiness was created to ensure that students, particularly those from underserved populations, are academically prepared for the rigors of college coursework and the demands of the college admissions process.
Center for Education
The Glasscock School prepares educators for the challenges of tomorrow, starting in classrooms of today. Deeply connected to the diverse and innovative community of educators across the Greater Houston metropolitan area, our Education Preparation programs are designed to empower teachers, counselors and administrators.
Center for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership
The Center for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership combines in-depth study of the current landscape in management, legal, financial, marketing and leadership with industry best practices to create an innovative curriculum to challenge and inspire nonprofit professionals.
Community Learning & Engagement
Learn from outstanding Rice University faculty and other community experts and explore the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, creative writing, photography, studio art, and many other fascinating subjects in our short, non-credit courses and programs for the community.
English as a Second Language
The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Rice University offers non-native speakers of English the opportunity to improve their language skills while connecting with others in immersive classroom experiences.
Foreign Languages Department
The Rice University Foreign Language program connects students to a whole new world. Whether it’s a passion for travel or a way to improve their career, foreign language students learn about the history and culture of places near and far.
Graduate Liberal Studies
In the Glasscock School’s Graduate Liberal Studies program, students can choose from three degree plans and a variety of certification courses to customize their career and personal development.
