Dave Tinker, MPA, MISST, CFRE, FAFP, has more than 30 years of fundraising and nonprofit management experience. He is the vice president of advancement at Achieva where he oversees all of the fundraising and communications efforts, an associate consultant with GoalBusters Consulting, and an adjunct professor of informatics at Muskingum University’s Master of Information Strategy, Systems and Technology (MISST) program. Mr. Tinker currently serves on the Grant Professionals Association’s Ethics Committee. A certified Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Master Trainer, he was honored by AFP International as one of the first six Distinguished Fellows (FAFP). He also received the Outstanding Fundraising Executive Award from the AFP Western PA chapter. He has held all but one board officer position for the AFP Western PA chapter at least once. Currently, he is an at large board member of the chapter. Among other volunteer roles he serves on the Brentwood Borough School District Board of Directors, the AFP PAC board, and is a youth sports coach. A frequent speaker across North America on fundraising, nonprofit management, and technology, he has been featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Business Times for his work on using technology in fundraising. Mr. Tinker was one of the first to receive a Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in nonprofit management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. He received a bachelor’s in chemistry and English and a MISST from Muskingum University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Works – Indianapolis, Class III, and the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware – Class 44.
