School Literacy & Culture
FREE ON-DEMAND EARLY LITERACY SUMMIT

About the Summit

FOR TEACHERS OF PRE-K 3 TO FIRST GRADE

Thank you for your interest in School Literacy and Culture’s first virtual on-demand Fall Summit. We’ve heard your stories of this school year: hope amidst fatigue, the struggle to maintain home and work life balance, and a resounding need to engage in self-care. Our team at SLC has worked together to find a creative and innovative solution to share content we know teachers want and need, in a way that supports a healthy home and work life balance.

Completion of the lectures and a brief survey will result in a PD certificate for a total of 3 hours.

While individuals across the country have been asking how our schools will mitigate COVID learning loss, at SLC we've been asking a related but larger question: What does it mean to be a teacher of young children today, and what skills and capacities must we prioritize as we best support the children and families with whom we work? This question acknowledges that much has been lost, but also challenges us to look for qualities and experiences that we can build upon. It places equity at the center of decision-making and keeps each of us moving forward despite the challenges we face each day.

We hope you enjoy this free, on-demand professional development experience. Access the content as the timing works for you, knowing that it is fine to start and stop the videos as needed. Summit content will be available Nov. 11, 2021 through Jan. 31, 2022.
