The Fall IB workshops at Rice are designed for new and experienced IB teachers at the PYP, MYP, DP and the CP levels who are interested in learning about the IB program and strategies and techniques for effectively teaching IB curriculum. Workshops are led by experienced IB workshop leaders who have a strong background in teaching and an interest in developing the IB teacher community through rigorous professional development.
Workshops will be Sunday to Tuesday on the Rice University campus. Classes on the first two days will be held from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and classes on the last day will be held from 9 a.m.-noon. Prior to registering, please review the IB Workshops and Resources catalog to determine which category best meets your needs. Additionally, certain information provided during registration will be sent to the IB Organization.

IMPORTANT: Please do not book travel or lodging until enrollment is confirmed. We recommend adding travel insurance when purchasing your airline ticket to protect your purchase in the event of unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Injury or illness of insured or family member
- Cancellation of workshop due to low enrollment or instructor availability
- Hospitalization of insured
Continuing Education Credits: Participants will receive up to 15 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits or 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU). Attendance is taken each morning and afternoon. The hours on your certificate will reflect your actual hours of attendance. Participants are responsible for signing the attendance sheet each day. Note: The Rice University IB Workshops are not approved by TAGT for GT hours, but some districts will allow a limited number of hours to be applied for update hours. Please contact your district for specifics.
Acknowledgment of Enrollment: Once you register for a course through our online registration system, you will be enrolled in the course. An enrollment acknowledgment will immediately be sent to the email address on your account showing payment confirmation or including instructions for submitting payment via check. In some cases, a course may be full, and you will have the option of getting on a waiting list. A waiting list is automatically created for a course once it has filled to capacity. If a spot should become available in that filled course, and you are next on the waiting list, you will receive an email to the email address on file with instructions for completing registration for that specific course.
